Over 1,000 plastic crabs race down Patriot's Plunge into the Revolutionary River. Adopt one, cheer it on, and you could win. Proceeds go to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
In memory of Denise Whalen Carey
Denise was a manager at Breakwater Beach who lost her battle with cancer. She put her heart into the events and birthday parties at the park, she is terribly missed, and this race is how we honor her each year.
Race day
Saturday, August 22 at 5pm — Patriot's Plunge, Breakwater Beach Waterpark. You don't need to be there to win.
Prizes
The winning crab takes home $100 and ten all-day passes to Breakwater Beach for the 2027 season, with more prizes for the first 100 crabs to finish.
